Teddy Faley Troubleshoots 11 A.M.’s Reality

11 A.M. – “Troubleshooting (Teddy Faley Remix)” mp3

Bend your mind around this. An electronic hip-hop post modern beat poet meltdown with outlandishly fiendish dubwise dubstep punktronic sonic belligerence. Deeply hilarious and poignant lyrics splattered over innovative and fearless musical calamities. Top notch off the grid under the radar not so mainstream better than that other next sh!t. Bust it.

Abner Trio is Gorgeous, Believe It

Abner Trio – “You’re Gorgeous, Believe It” mp3

Sometimes a bad review from the right person is just what a band needs to help describe their sound in a positive way. Abner Trio boasts proudly on their myspace page that Razorcake HATES us!, and well they should. Ben Snakepit hates them for the very reasons I like them! “‘Thoughtful’ guitars, ‘intelligent’ and clearly enunciated vocals; AAARGH!” says poor Ben. Sounds to me like essence o’ XTC, with nods to Gentle Giant, King Crimson and Sonic Youth. Their label, Joyful Noise Recordings, explains that their new album The Giant Crushes You is available on Vinyl, Cassette, and Digital, but no CDs. How refreshing! A weird and wonderful record from a weird and wonderful band from Indianapolis.

When The Choir Sets In, take yr Acid Plutonium

Acid Plutonium! – “And Then The Choir Sets In” mp3

Strangest song ever. And I DIG it. I dig when a band seems to make a purpose of bending minds.  It used to be called psychedelic I suppose. But in 2010, after punk rock, after the dawn and dusk of rave, after Burning Man, Mr. Bungle and Sarah Palin, what does one DO to present a bit of oddness? A group called Acid Plutonium! from Arhus, Denmark  has a suitable answer. This is truly and completely bent. And quite a musical achievement. Enjoy.

A “Hound” on a Swimteam

Swimteam – “Hound” mp3

Some charming electric pop 4 yr Sunday ears. Sort of like Depeche Mode but in a less dismal mood, perhaps on pot cookies, or a nice Riesling. Very contemporary this “Hound,” a reflective moment from the very arty Swimteam from Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Music is my passion, and I bask in its sonic glow everyday. There has been so much stupendous music made recently, regardless of the shriveling record industry.

This GR8 music has somehow been ignored and relegated to a second-class status it honestly doesn’t deserve. Being the uber-fan that I am, I found it necessary to blog about this attention-worthy music. Because of my immense passion, I feel like it’s my sole responsibility to take you directly to as much of this music as I can find. I just want to share the fun with fellow music lovers, while helping the music creators.

I have found a free legal MP3 download for each song I post. The artist approves of the free download. These artists hope you like their music enough to buy some. If you don’t, the artist still thanks you for taking the time to listen to their music.

Makes sense, right?

So I’m Superfan.

I give you a link to free legal MP3s, and I get to help spread the word for artists.

If you don’t find any music you love, you’ll get your money back. Guaranteed!

Dan Della Ripa, AKA Subverse

From the time I discovered there was a world of great music seething beyond my brother’s record collection, I have spent the majority of my energy exploring music that is new to me. I grew up listening to hip-hop, electronic and jazz. By the time I was 14 I started bedroom DJing. During high school I started my perpetual mixtape quest. Eventually I amassed enough gear and dirty-used records to turn what should have been a laundry room into a home studio. Two of my songs where deemed worthy enough to be included in Fun Fun Fun Recording’s Mp3 Jackpot Winners Vol. 1“Meditations (by a father)” and “Sick“. It was during that exciting time that I first heard of the MP3 format. I immediately saw how artists like myself would be able to exploit the new technology as a vehicle for delivering music straight to music lovers. Subverse2ten is the latest medium that I use for discovering, filtering and distributing new music to music fans who find themselves always slightly ahead of the curve. I still hold the same enthusiasm and love of new music as I did when I was a kid. I hope you enjoy the music you find here as much as I do.

Helping create and introducing new music is my greatest joy. I founded Beserkley Records, and Fun Fun Fun Recordings to do just that. All the bloggers at Music2ten.com are recording artists @ Funfunfunrecordings.com. I am truly proud of all the music at Fun Fun Fun, and I hope you check out the music, maybe even buy some.

I am also a recording artist @ Fun Fun Fun. That helps me understand the need for exposure sites like this one. Check out my ode to the radio on MP3Jackpot Winners.

Survival Oakland

www.survivaloakland2ten.com In a time and place where virtual hustle has devolved into clicks, plays and arbitrary photos of youngsters portraying something they’re NOT, Survival’s blog serves as ground zero for post-modern metalism. Metalism, that sonic punch that, when it hit, you missed. Then when it hit again, you still missed.

Instead of adding this site to your friend’s list and continuing some miniscule internet existence in a virtually impoverished ghetto of media, just hit up this page to hear some of the heaviest, crunchiest shit that indies, majors, and nobodies are offering in the Bay, the Nation, and Beyond – for Free.

Survival is a speed, thrash, groove, power, sex, pain metal group from the Bay Area started in 2009.

The style grows from the classic bay area speed metal sound, but with more eccentric and enigmatic energy to bruise your receptors.

Visit Survival on myspace or IMEEM for shows, merch, and updates.
